Johannes Voordouw is a development and participatory communication consultant, who has worked in the Caribbean for over 20 years, particularly in Haiti and Jamaica. He now specialises in development project evaluation, institutional development, community participation and media development. Jan Voordouw previously worked with the relief and development social enterprise Cordaid (Haiti director), the regional communication for development organization Panos Caribbean (Executive Director and Director of Programmes) and UNEP’s Caribbean Environment Programme (Programme Officer).
A dual national (Jamaica/Netherlands), he has extensive experience in managing organisations, financial management, budgeting and reporting, as well as administrative accountability (audits). Over the years, he has been involved in issues, such as humanitarian aid, child rights, public health, disabled people advocacy, marine and coastal resource management, climate change and community violence reduction. Jan Voordouw has an M.Sc. from the Agricultural University of Wageningen, Netherlands and is multi-lingual.
